Spring Update from Season’s Eden

🌱

Progress, Community, and a Season Full of Meaning

Spring is fully arriving here at Season’s Eden. The woods are waking up, the lake is changing by the day, and there’s that familiar Lake of the Ozarks, spring energy in the air that reminds me why we started this in the first place.

Even when timelines shift, growth keeps happening.

This season has already brought some important steps forward, some meaningful moments of reflection, and a lot of excitement about what’s ahead.

Eden Arboretum Is Moving Forward

🌳

One of the biggest pieces of news this spring is the continued progress around Eden Arboretum and Gardens. This vision has always been about more than accommodations — it’s about stewardship, education, and creating a place where people can reconnect with nature in a lasting way.

We are laying the groundwork carefully and intentionally, and it’s exciting to see this part of Eden beginning to take shape alongside everything else happening on the property.

This is long-term work, and it matters. Now that we have non-profit status, we will grow our volunteer base and community presence. What an amazing start to a legacy project.

The Dome Is Ready for Events

While our original goal was to have overnight dome stays ready this spring, funding shifted that timeline a bit. That said, the event dome is active and usable, and we now have:

  • Flooring installed

  • Septic tank set

  • Electric on the pole

  • Infrastructure moving steadily forward

There is still work ahead to finish full connections, but we already have everything we need for great gatherings and events right now — and that feels like a big milestone worth celebrating.

Sometimes progress doesn’t look exactly like the original plan, but it’s still real progress.

Primitive Camping Is Open

🏕️

Primitive camping is officially open for the season, and guests are already beginning to experience Eden in its simplest and most peaceful form.

Campers also have access to the lower level of the clubhouse, including:

  • Billiards

  • Board games

  • Indoor gathering space

It’s a relaxed, welcoming setup and a great way to spend time on the land while we continue building toward the next phase.

And honestly — spring is one of the best times to visit.

Spring Events Are Underway

We’ve started the season with several community gatherings that are quickly becoming favorites:

First Friday Fishing Derby continues to bring neighbors, families, and visitors together around the lake. It’s simple, fun, and exactly the kind of connection Eden was meant to support. Raffles and prizes, s'mores and cocoa. We are looking for local vendors to offer their products. Please reach out if you would like to participate.

Our Women’s Group is also growing into something really special. These gatherings are centered around wellness, reflection, and supporting each other through the seasons of life.

And Project Lightning Bug is quietly beginning to take shape as a way to spread encouragement, positivity, and small lights of connection across the Eden community and beyond. I’m excited to keep growing this with all of you.

Friends & Family Weekend — A Special One This Year

Our annual Friends and Family Weekend returns over Summer Solstice weekend, along with what is becoming a tradition here — our Father’s Day brunch.

This year will be especially meaningful.

It will be the first Father’s Day without my dad, and gathering together here on the land he loved so much, makes this weekend feel even more important. There’s something powerful about honoring the people who helped us build the foundations we stand on.

I’m looking forward to sharing that weekend with all of you. It’s going to be a special one

❤️

A Veterans Collaboration Still in the Works

🇺🇸

Another piece of the Eden vision that remains open and growing is our Veterans initiative.

We are actively looking for Veteran organizations interested in collaborating on programming, retreats, or experiences here on the property. Supporting those who have served has always been important to me and to this space.

If you know an organization that might want to partner with us, I would love to connect.

Seeds, Mushrooms, and Signs of the Season

Spring also means planting season has officially begun.

We picked up some amazing seeds from Noah’s Nursery, one of our wonderful local community vendors. Supporting local growers while building Eden’s gardens just feels right.

And of course — morel mushroom season is in full effect. Around here, that alone is reason enough to get outside and explore.

Between the mushrooms, the trails, the lake, and the fresh air, this is always one of the best times of year to visit.

Signs Are Coming, and So Is the Next Phase

Another fun update — property signage is currently in creation, which will help guests navigate and experience Eden more easily as we continue growing.

Every step like this brings us closer to completing Phase One and moving toward additional domes and expanded experiences.

We are building this place piece by piece, with intention and love, and it’s exciting to see the layers coming together.

Retreats, Team Building, and Learning at Eden

Another exciting piece growing quietly behind the scenes this spring is the work happening through Your Personnel Season (YPS).

For over twenty years I’ve helped organizations build stronger teams, clearer communication, healthier leadership practices, and workplaces where people can actually thrive. Bringing that experience to Season’s Eden has always been part of the vision.

We are actively developing retreat classes and learning experiences for:

  • corporate team building

  • leadership retreats

  • group outings

  • small business workshops

  • local entrepreneur learning sessions

  • wellness-centered workplace development

These programs will take place inside the dome and across the property, combining business learning with nature, reflection, and connection.

Sometimes that looks like communication workshops.
Sometimes leadership development.
Sometimes strategic thinking in a quieter environment.
And sometimes simply creating space for teams to reset and reconnect.

Not every lesson has to happen inside a conference room.

Season’s Eden gives us the opportunity to bring together wellness and business learning in a way that feels human again, and I’m excited to start welcoming organizations who want something different for their teams.

If you or your organization are interested in hosting a retreat or workshop here, I would love to talk.
