A behind-the-scenes look at life at Season's Eden glamping retreat near Lake of the Ozarks since the new year — from indoor gardens and off-grid living to upcoming classes and community experiences.
Life at our glamping wellness retreat near Lake of the Ozarks since the new year
As this new year began, I found myself reflecting — not just on where we are, but on how far we've come. Winter is quiet here on our 55-acre property in the Missouri Ozarks, but it is never still. While the land rests, the dream keeps moving. And behind the scenes at Season's Eden, we've been working every single day — sometimes tired, sometimes unsure, but always moving forward.
Season's Eden is not something that appeared overnight. It is being built step by step, with intention, faith, and a deep belief that creating something meaningful still matters.
I want to share a little of what we've truly been doing since January — and what it really takes to keep following a dream.
The Work Behind the Vision
Since the start of the year, life here has been full of planning, building, organizing, learning, and sometimes simply figuring things out one day at a time.
We expanded and organized our indoor grow space — what we jokingly call our "apocalypse grow room." This is where spring begins long before the soil outside warms. Seeds, soil, trays, lights, watering, and patience… lots of patience. Gardening here is not about perfection — it's about consistency and care. Some things grow beautifully. Some teach lessons. Both matter.
Outside, we've been preparing garden beds and growing spaces, thinking about how this land will continue to nourish both body and soul. Raised beds, simple tools, buckets for tomatoes and potatoes, natural methods — nothing fancy, just steady hands and hopeful hearts.
We've also continued shaping camp and retreat spaces slowly and intentionally. Sometimes progress looks big. Other times, it's clearing, organizing, moving materials, solving small problems, and taking one more step even when you're tired.
At the same time, we keep strengthening our semi-off-grid lifestyle — learning how to do more with less, how to grow, preserve, adapt, and live closer to nature. This part is never finished. It's a journey of learning every day.
This work isn't always glamorous. But it's real. And it's building something that will last.
Sharing the Journey — Our YouTube Channel
This year, I opened a new window into life at Eden — the Season's Eden YouTube Channel.
I didn't create it to be perfect. I created it to be real.
Through the channel, I share:
- What it truly looks like to build Season's Eden day by day
- Gardening — the wins and the failures
- Growing, preparing, and learning self-reliance
- Quiet reflections and everyday life here
- The tools, lessons, and mindset it takes to keep going
This channel isn't just about watching — it's about walking this journey together. If you've ever dreamed of building something, starting over, living closer to nature, or simply slowing down… you belong here too.
Learning Together — Wellness Classes Coming This Year
This year, Season's Eden grows into something deeper — a place to learn, share, and reconnect. The classes we will offer come from real experience — not perfection, not theory, but life.
We will be sharing:
Gardening & Growing
How to start with nothing — seeds, soil, patience, and consistency. Indoor growing, seasonal planting, herbs, flowers, and food gardens using natural methods.
Self-Reliance & Simple Living
Growing your own food, preserving what you harvest, and building small sustainable systems that bring independence and confidence.
Wellness & Connection
Women's gatherings, nature-centered reflection, slowing down, reconnecting, and remembering how to breathe again.
Creative & Family Learning
Storytelling, seasonal experiences, youth learning, and hands-on connection with the land and each other.
These are not just classes — they are shared experiences, real conversations, and learning together.
What It Really Takes to Follow a Dream
People often see the vision. Few see the work.
Following a dream takes showing up — even when progress feels slow. It takes solving problems without giving up. Learning skills you didn't know you needed. Using what you have instead of waiting for perfect conditions. Faith during uncertainty. Grit during setbacks. And belief — especially on the hard days.
The real tools are simple: hands, heart, persistence, patience, and purpose.
Dreams are not built in giant leaps. They are built in daily steps. And here at Season's Eden… I keep taking them.
A Year of Growth Ahead
Season's Eden continues to grow — not just as a glamping retreat near Lake of the Ozarks, but as a story, a community, and a living dream rooted in nature, connection, and intention.
If you are building something, healing, learning, or searching for peace… you are part of this journey too.
Thank you for being here.
Thank you for growing with me.
— Season
